jagajjālapālaṃ calatkhaṇṭhamālam
śaraccandrabhrālaṃ mahādaityakālam
nabhonīlakāyaṃ durāvāramāyam
supadmāsahāyaṃ bhajehaṃ bhajeham ||1||
He who protects all of creation and wears a beautiful, moving garland around His neck
He with a radiant forehead like the autumn moon, who brings destruction to the mightiest demons
His body is as deep blue as the sky, and His divine illusion is beyond anyone's power to cross
He who is ever accompanied by Goddess Lakṣmī — to Him I offer my devotion, again and again ||1||
sadāmbhodhivāsaṃ galatpuṣpahāsam
jagatsannivāsaṃ śatādityabhāsam
gadācakraśastraṃ lasatpītavastram
hasaccāruvaktraṃ bhajehaṃ bhajeham ||2||
He who always resides in the great ocean, with a smile as fresh and beautiful as a blooming flower
He who pervades the whole universe, blazing with the brilliance of a hundred suns
Armed with the mace and discus, adorned with radiant golden-yellow robes
He whose lovely face is always graced by a sweet, joyful smile — to Him I offer my devotion, again and again ||2||
ramākaṇṭhahāraṃ śrutivratāsāram
jalāntarvihāraṃ dharābhārahāram
cidānandarūpaṃ manojñasvarūpam
dhṛtānekarūpaṃ bhajehaṃ bhajeham ||3||
He who is as precious as a necklace to Goddess Lakṣmī, and who is the distilled essence of all Vedic scripture
He who roams within the waters (in His Matsya and Kūrma forms), who relieves the Earth of her great burden
He whose very essence is pure consciousness and boundless bliss, with a form that enchants every mind
He who takes on countless forms to protect and sustain the universe — to Him I offer my devotion, again and again ||3||
jarājanmahīnaṃ parānandapīnam
samādhānalīnaṃ sadaivānavīnam
jagajjanmahētuṃ surānīkakētum
trilokaikasētuṃ bhajehaṃ bhajeham ||4||
He who is beyond the cycle of birth and aging, who is ever brimming with the highest bliss
He who ever abides in perfect stillness and equanimity, who remains eternally new and unchanging
He who is the very origin and cause of all creation, who stands as the standard-bearer and protector of the celestial armies
He who serves as the sole bridge uniting all three worlds — to Him I offer my devotion, again and again ||4||
kṛtāmnāyagānaṃ khagādhīśayānam
vimuktērnidānaṃ harārātimānam
svabhaktānukūlaṃ jagadvṛkṣamūlam
nirastārtaśūlaṃ bhajehaṃ bhajeham ||5||
He who is celebrated through Vedic hymns, and who soars on Garuḍa, the mighty lord of all birds
He who is the very source and foundation of liberation, who humbles and shatters the arrogance of foes
He who is ever gracious and favourable to His devotees, who is the very root from which the tree of the universe grows
He who uproots all pain and misery from those who suffer — to Him I offer my devotion, again and again ||5||
samastāmarēśaṃ dvirēphābhakēśam
jagadvimbalēśaṃ hṛdākāśadēśam
sadā divyadēhaṃ vimuktākhilēham
suvaikuṇṭhagēhaṃ bhajehaṃ bhajeham ||6||
He who reigns as the supreme lord over all the gods, with hair as dark and lustrous as the black bee
He for whom the entire cosmos is but a fraction, who resides in the infinite sky-like space within the heart
He whose body is eternally divine and auspicious, who is completely free from all bondage and worldly entanglement
He who dwells in the transcendent realm of Vaikuṇṭha — to Him I offer my devotion, again and again ||6||
surālibaliṣṭhaṃ trilokīvariṣṭham
gurūṇāṃ gariṣṭhaṃ svarūpaikaniṣṭham
sadā yuddhadhīraṃ mahāvīravīram
mahāmbhodhitīraṃ bhajehaṃ bhajeham ||7||
He who surpasses all the gods in power, who stands supreme and most exalted across all three worlds
He who is the supreme Guru of all gurus, who abides always in unwavering awareness of His own divine self
He who remains ever fearless and valiant in battle, the greatest warrior among all mighty warriors
He who reposes on the shore of the great cosmic ocean (on Śeṣa) — to Him I offer my devotion, again and again ||7||
ramāvāmabhāgaṃ talānagnrāgam
kṛtādhīnayāgaṃ gatārāgarāgam
munīndraiḥ sugītaṃ suraiḥ saṃparītam
guṇaughairatītaṃ bhajehaṃ bhajeham ||8||
He with Goddess Lakṣmī ever at His left side, who lies in divine repose upon the serpent Śeṣa
He who holds all yajñas and sacrifices under His supreme authority, who is completely free from passion and attachment
He who is glorified in the hymns of the greatest sages, who is encircled and worshipped by all the celestials
He who transcends the three qualities of nature — sattva, rajas and tamas — to Him I offer my devotion, again and again ||8||
idaṃ yastu nityaṃ samādhāya cittam
paṭhedaṣṭakaṃ kaṇṭhahāraṃ murāreḥ
sa viṣṇorviśokaṃ dhruvaṃ yāti lokam
jarājanmaśokaṃ punarvindatē nō
Whoever daily recites this stotra with a focused, undistracted mind
This aṣṭaka, treasured by Murāri as a garland worn close to His heart
They will surely reach the realm of Viṣṇu — Vaikuṇṭha — where there is no sorrow whatsoever
And they will never again be bound by the suffering of old age or the cycle of birth and death
